Coronavirus-How To Protect Yourself
The entire world is currently dealing with the spread of the Coronavirus.
While we hope the spread can be quickly contained, it is always prudent to hope for the best, but expect the worst…and to be prepared for it.
Here is what you can do to prepare yourself and your family in case COVID-19 spreads to your community.
Wash your hands frequently
Regularly and thoroughly clean your hands with an alcohol-based hand rub or wash them with soap and water because washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands.
Practice social distancing
Maintain at least 6 feet distance between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.
Liquid droplet are released when someone coughs or sneezes. These droplets may contain the virus. If you are close, you may inhale them.
Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing.
Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze. Then be sure to immediately dispose of the tissue.
Don’t touch eyes, nose and mouth with your hands.
Your hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses which will then be transferred to your eyes, nose or mouth and will enter your body.
If you’re caring for someone who is ill, wear a facemask if they are unable to wear one themselves.
If you feel ill, stay at home.
If you have a fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical attention.
By staying informed we can all help limit the effects of this virus and protect ourselves and our communities from its spread.
