The most fun you’ll have in Charleston!
Charleston is a city packed with things to do from shopping, to pristine beaches, 5 star restaurants, arts, culture, and much more. When you are visiting Charleston for the first time because of the long list of options you may overlook some of the things to do in Charleston that are a little bit off the beaten path but there are many that you simply don’t want to miss. Getting out on the water is a favorite option especially during the hot summer months but it is really fun all year long. Taking a guided tour with Carolina Marine Group will be something you will thank us for recommending for a number of reasons.
Captain Dave and the crew are fun to be around and very knowledgeable not to mention very accommodating. Have a specific request? Just let them know and they will make sure that you have a great time. As of March 2018 they now have a new boat in their fleet called “Ship of Fools” that can take over 6 passengers which their other boat could not.
Ship of Fools is a 30 foot Island Hopper with a wide 12 foot beam. If you are looking for a different idea for a bachelorette party, birthday or larger groups that want to spend some time on the water then this is the boat for you. It is stable and roomy. It is the perfect party boat.
“Hatterass” is their flagship boat and is smaller so it is more intimate and romantic for a party of two. They often have it booked out for sunset tours with a bottle of bubbly and it’s the perfect setting to pop the question. Hatterass is ideal for groups up to 6 guests. It has a roomy cockpit to spread out and socialize with your friends. You are always welcome to head to the bridge and spend time with the captain and mate. Taking a tour and learning about the history of Charleston is one of the top things to do in Charleston but many people do not realize they can take a historical tour from a private yacht out on the water while enjoying the cool breeze which is especially beneficial if it is hot and humid. During our tours they can be as much or as little involved as you like. Captain Dave can give you some history of the harbor and the historic sites or you can just relax and take in the southern style and low country feel while sipping on your favorite drink. They can customize your tour and take you to iconic sights such as the Shutes Folly Island, Civil War forts, Castle Pinckney, the Ravenel Bridge, 18th-century homes, the USS Yorktown, The historic Battery, and have fun watching the dolphins have fun!!
Live on a yacht while visiting Charleston
If you are looking for a unique place to stay while in Charleston there is no better place then Motor Yacht Southern Comfort. This is their 61 foot Motor Yacht that sleeps 8 guests in 4 staterooms. Each stateroom has its own head and shower. It is bigger and more spacious then people think! It has a full living room with dinning room table. Cable tv and stereo system is also located in the main salon. The aft deck is quite and peaceful and overlooks the inner marina and yacht club.
One of our absolute favorite things to do in Charleston is to eat since Charleston is a city known for it’s food. Although the boat does have a full eat in kitchen with plenty of seating most people choose to take advantage of all the great restaurants in town and don’t cook on the boat. The flybridge is a great place to sun and relax or watch some of the best sunsets on the east coast while having a nice glass of wine. If your looking to see what the yachting lifestyle is all about then this is certainly the way to do it.
