The dog does not attack out of fear or anger, the dog attacks because he has been commanded to. Attack dog training, if carried out properly is very useful in personal protection. However the dog should still use his own initiative, if situations arise where the handler has been injured and cannot give a command.

People who purchase or have their dogs trained for dog obedience, protection or attack; need to be advised by the professional trainer on how to correctly handle the dog.

A good dog trainer can make it look safe and easy, but attack dog training is not a past time for amateurs, leave it to the professionals!

Any type of dog training carried out by the Guard Dog Training Centre is fully guaranteed to the best of the dogs ability!

As with obedience training – individual results will vary. If the dog does not meet your requirements we will continue training the dog at Boarding Rates until we achieve your goals.

Using the bite suit is another way of attack training your dog. Its main use is to teach a dog to bite a person anywhere he pleases. The bite suit is ideal for turning your dog into a man stopper or to make your sports dog a more committed biter!

The angrier a dog gets the more he foams from his mouth.
Even bleeding from his mouth is normal under these circumstances. Whilst this looks cruel, it is by no means cruel at all – the dog is simply working hard!

If you’re determined to have a dog that is trained to attack on command, this type of training is generally best left to professionals. If you are convinced that you can do the job yourself, though, start with a breed of dog that is naturally protective, and choose one that is a decent size – it doesn’t matter how much a 30-pounder might want to look after you, he’s just not going to be up to the job. And be prepared to commit to thorough training – the last thing you want is to have a dog that goes after people you actually want near you, or one that can’t be called off.

As I said in the beginning, I am not entirely comfortable with the idea of training dogs to attack. For myself, I prefer to rely on the love and loyalty that our dogs feel toward us, and assume that when the chips are down, our dogs will be there for us as we are for them. By the same token, though, I can understand why Janelle feels safer with a well-trained attack dog. Maybe sometimes, it’s not a bad thing to have a dog that is a skilled protector as well as being a beloved pet.
